My daughter’s real name is not Clementine, but she really is away at college and I really do miss her. She’s a singer/songwriter, and I happen to think she’s very talented (as all mothers are wont to think–though this time it happens to be true). Recently, she covered the song Moon River from Breakfast at Tiffany’s (by Johnny Mercer and Henry Mancini). I think it is so beautiful, so wonderfully simple and well done that I am posting it here for your enjoyment. She plays the guitar on this clip and harmonizes with herself.
I usually try to keep my real life completely separate from my online life. My daughter did not ask me to share this (though she has approved it), but I love this recording so much that I wanted to see if I could help her to reach a bigger audience (as I’ve stated before, this blog sometimes reaches an audience of dozens!) So if you happen to be a record producer or if you just happen to KNOW any record producers– feel free to share this clip! HA! Seriously, please indulge this mother bragging on her talented offspring. Please also note that mean comments will be deleted–as they SHOULD be. If you want to be nasty, go be nasty to someone famous and thick-skinned, not to my baby on her momma’s blog. Do not MAKE me cut a bitch. ‘Kay?
On that note, introducing Ms. Rainy Blue!
If you want to hear more, please feel free to visit her public facebook page Rainy Day Blues.
Thank you for your indulgence. Now back to your regularly scheduled program…

Your daughter has a lovely voice, and she sounds so sweet and nice. She sounds like she would do well in Broadway musicals. Does she have ambitions in that direction? Best of Luck to her and God Bless

Well, darn. I’m feeling like quite the incompetent. I can’t get the audio clip to play (file that under “sounds like a personal problem”) and the only Rainy Day Blues page I can find on Facebook is a private page (avatar is a photo of a horse — could that be your daughter’s page?). Could you please (please, please, please) post a direct link to the public Facebook page for Rainy Day Blues? Thank you!

I enjoyed listening to the song. I think she has a very good voice and I do wish her all the luck in the world pursuing her dreams.
