The refrigerator mother thing.

Might be my own autism speaking, but why would anybody assume that a child’s behavior (ANY child’s behavior) is completely within control of the parent?

Good morning,Karen.I love your strip.It is funny that you mention this,I,too,am a(bleeding heart) liberal Christian.I live in western Ohio,on my way home from picking one of my sons from college in eastern Ohio I saw a giant sign that read:’Christian of Democrat’.

Leslie, it used to be speculated that autism was caused by poor attachment of children to emotionally “cold” mothers. Manny’s joking but it’s a painful acknowledgement that parents of kids with autism do often get judgmental reactions from people who think that their children’s behavior is within their power to control.

I like Sunday’s strip a lot.
